Un ensamble de músicos legendarios incluyendo a The Cure, Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Billy Joel, Ian McCulloch, Barry Gibb, Roger Daltrey, Yusuf Islam (aka Cat Stevens) y muchos más se han unido para hacer covers de la discografía de Paul McCartney para un enorme álbum tributo.
En anticipación a su lanzamiento el 18 de noviembre, The Art of McCartney está disponible vía streaming. El proyecto fue originalmente concebido por Ralph Sall en 2003. McCartney no solo le dio su bendición al disco, sino que prestó su banda ara acompañar al extenso número de vocalistas en el estudio.
El álbum fue precedido por los covers “Hello Godbye“, el cual presentaba a The Cure interpretando el clásico de The Beatles con el hijo de McCartney, James, junto a la versión de Billy Joel para “Maybe I’m Amazed“.
The Art of McCartney estará disponible en múltiples formatos, incluyendo digital, CD y vinilo, así como un box set de lujo con un documental exclusivo, una llave USB en forma del bajo de Macca y un certificado de autenticidad. El paquete completo trae ocho bonus tracks, entre ellos “C Moon” por Robert Smith y “Smile Away” por Alice Cooper.
